June 10th - Grand Canyon, AZ

Hey guys, today the blog is going to be presented by Lu and Guto (Brazil!), but there’s lots of people around so it’s pretty much everybody!

Day 3... what a day! It feels like we’ve done so many things so far, and we still have over 10 days to go. We’re all really excited!!

The day started early, but we were excited about going to the GRAND CANYON.

When we got there, the first thing we thought was how amazing that place is!!! The view was surreal; it looked like a picture in a movie. We took tons of pictures, and then the real adventure started: HIKING!

Our goal was to go down 1.5 miles… And the hike started… It was pretty fun, there were lots of squirrels around to entertain us, sometimes we would have to get out of the trail so the mules with the lazy (we mean, tired) people could pass. Half way through, some of the students felt tired so they needed to go back, but a lot of us kept going… about one hour later we made it to the 1.5-miles mark! The fun part was about to start. But before that, of course, more pictures! Our countries’ flags, smiles, pretty view.. So much fun! Some people also walked 10 more minutes past that mark. But we had no idea what the way back was going to be!

We were, then, separated in different groups and with that came different and funny stories! Some people just went straight up, others would stop every 5 minutes to “take pictures” (take one picture, rest for 10 minutes)… We even heard about some people who apparently saw Indians in the canyon (was it real, or were them about to pass out?)!!! We finally made it back, and most of us were STARVING! We just ran to the first restaurant we had and had as much food as we wanted, with liters of water…

Our bus was going to leave the Grand Canyon at 4pm, so we still had time to kill… We just hanged around, but it was pretty cold and not a lot of people had warm clothes... So we started heading to the bus early! On our way back to the hotel, almost everybody fell asleep, but there was more to come… Once we got here we had the option to do a horseback ride! Guto did it and he said it was awesome!

At night is pretty much the same stuff, have dinner, stay in the lobby talking/playing cards/writing the blog! You know, things you do every night.

So guys, we think that’s it. Today was fun, but we’re even more excited for tomorrow… VEGAS HERE GO!

Well, people are waiting for us to go play cards, that means we’re out here.. We hope you guys enjoyed reading this.

Beijos e abracos, from the Brazilians Lu and Guto!

Tchau!
